The Constitution of India upholds the principles of equality, justice, secularism, and democracy across a nation marked by immense diversity. However, it is a sobering reality that the core values and provisions of the Constitution remain unfamiliar to a large section of the Indian population. Recognizing this gap and the critical importance of constitutional rights education, Vaan Muhil Trust has taken the historic step of introducing constitutional literacy to the younger generation.
The Constitution of India lays down the fundamental framework for the governance of the country, guiding the functioning of various state institutions and providing a roadmap for future nation-building. It enshrines and promotes values that are vital for fostering an inclusive , secular, democratic and equitable society.
In today’s context, where discrimination, intolerance, hatred, and social disparity continue to divide communities and threaten social harmony, it is vital to embed the core principles of democracy into our everyday lives. In this light, the Constitutional Rights Education (CRE) Programme seeks to nurture essential democratic values and foster the development of noble qualities among children.
The CRE Programme is designed to instill in young minds the values enshrined in our Constitution and to cultivate awareness of their fundamental rights. By doing so, it aims to shape children into compassionate, responsible citizens whose humanistic values will resonate in classrooms, hostels, schools, sports arenas, and the wider community.
