Special events were organized in CRE clubs in Karnataka and Odisha by the respective partner members, involving residential schools and communities to meaningfully observe the International Human Rights Day in 2022. In Odisha, thousands of school students gathered to commemorate this historic occasion through a large human chain at Sailasree Vihar, Bhuvaneswar. Former Member of the Odisha Human Rights Commission, Mr.S.J.Asim Amithav Doss was the chief guest on this occasion. The gathering read aloud the Preamble of the Constitution of India and the special address by him highlighted the relevance of constitutional rights education in today’s context and the role of the students in protecting and promoting constitutional values. In addition, essay competitions and painting competitions were held for the students in residential schools/hostels in Kandamal district and certificates of appreciation and trophies were awarded to the best performers. Similarly, special programs, students rally and seminars were organized in different parts of Jhasuguda district to observe human rights day.
